My Amdocs Journey
1# Start with the data
My time at Amdocs taught me to ground core design decisions in data and insights. Through extensive research and usability tests I’m able to remove biases, understand users on a deeper level, and create experiences that make a real impact in their lives.
2# Design extraordinary. But keep it simple
I’m a great fan of simplicity. Designing for Amdocs’ complex systems made me a master of the delicate art of balancing complexity and simplicity. With each project I undertook, my ability to transform intricate workflows into simple wireframes and intuitive interfaces grew exponentially.
3# Empathy is a superpower
To create designs that deliver value, you need to put yourself in the shoes of the user. Empathy helps bridge the gap between designers’ assumptions and users’ actual needs and desires. Amdocs taught me to always prioritize the user’s perspective, which became the cornerstone of my design philosophy.
4# Iterate. Innovate. Repeat.
The ‘soul’ and the ‘why’ of a product reveal themselves gradually over time. Embracing the iterative design process is a great way of unlocking the hidden potential of any experience. It’s fascinating to see the increasing clarity and precision that come as we take a step back to question assumptions.
5# Go beyond your own perspective
I love the magic that happens when you blend different people and perspectives. One of my biggest wins at Amdocs was the opportunity to collaborate with professionals from diverse backgrounds. It had a huge impact on my work, and pushed me to make room for more diverse audiences in my designs.
