4Toys reimagines the lifecycle of toys to make a positive impact on our planet. The app empowers parents and toy enthusiasts to unlock endless playtime possibilities by reusing, repurposing, and giving toys a second life.
The Challenge
When kids outgrow their toys, these treasures often end up collecting dust, occupying space, and contributing to unnecessary waste. Meanwhile, many families struggle to afford a wide selection of toys for their children. Without a centralized platform, toy givers and seekers are left disconnected, unable to discover and pass on toys in a meaningful and sustainable way.
The Solution
I started my research by carefully studying the second-hand toy market, considering factors like demand, competition, and pricing trends. I also delved into consumer preferences and behaviors surrounding second-hand purchases, including motivations, concerns, and decision-making processes. Drawing from this research, I created a digital presence that speaks directly to parents who are seeking to give toys new life and find them new homes.
The design incorporates elements that enhance the user experience and aligns with 4Toys’ eco-friendly mission.

Smart Color
The color palette was deliberately chosen to evoke joy and playfulness, while drawing inspiration from the iconic artist Piet Mondrian and his use of geometric shapes and primary colors that simplify reality. The basic shades give us a lot of choice and imagination and the ability to mix endlessly, just like the toys that are offered to give and take, you can take, return and turn again the circle of colors / the never-ending wheel of life of the toy.
Toys come in a wonderful kaleidoscope of colors, when you separate them, you get to the pure and basic shades of red, blue and yellow. This delightful blend creates an innocent color scheme that captures the magic of childhood.Simple and Inviting User Profiles
I believe in creating a sense of community within apps. That’s why I gave User Profiles a clean, straightforward, and inviting design. Parents can easily showcase their toys, connect with other users, and build trust in the 4Toys community.Eco-Friendly Design
Sustainability is at the core of 4Toys’ mission, and it is reflected in every aspect of the web design. From the use of eco-friendly icons and graphics to promoting the reuse and repurposing of toys, the design encourages conscious choices and a greener lifestyle
